The Route!
Florida is a good place to start for a round the country road trip. I can start in one corner and go all the way around. I chose a way that would maximize the amount of National Parks I could visit plus some cities I have been wanting to see. My friend Patrick recommended Roadtrippers.com, which allowed me to input my desired destinations and then it mapped out a route for me.
The good thing about a National Parks trip in the winter is that I will not have to fight the crowds. However, I may have issues with some trail and road closures, I'll just have to do what I can. I am still very excited, many of these parks are highly recommended to visit in winter because of the unique activities and beautiful views of snow-dusted rock formations and mountains.
National Park sites I plan to visit:
Gulf Islands NS
Hot Springs NP
Mesa Verde NP
Canyonlands NP
Arches NP
Bryce Canyon NP
Zion NP
Yosemite NP
Redwood NP
Crater Lake NP
Mt. Rainer NP
Olympic NP
Yellowstone NP
Badlands NP
Cuyahoga Valley NP
Shenandoah Valley NP
Great Smoky Mountains NP
